Branson drinks biofuel

Sir Richard Branson“Last month Sir Richard Branson, president of Virgin Atlantic, proudly drank a small mixture of babassu and coconut oil that had been used to create biofuel for aircraft engines. Even though he swallowed it quickly, the oil couldn’t have tasted as good to Sir Richard as it did to GE’s CF6 aircraft engine.

On that same February day, Virgin Atlantic, one of the world’s leading airlines, flew a GE-powered 747 jumbo jet, with one engine using the biofuel mixture. The flight from London to Amsterdam was the first airline in the world to use renewable fuel. ”   -excerpt from Dr. Tim Held

Here is a a guy that really puts his money where his mouth is.  How is it that a guy who is kind of a ‘crazy’ able to go out there and literally change the world. Take a look at the list of all the companies that he’s founded at the Virgin Group website and you are sure to be impressed.  I don’t need to give you any kind of bio on Branson as you can find that on wikipedia, but I will say that Branson is truly a great example of for those of us who are inspired by great entrepreneurs and visionaries. I would highly recommend a great read, “Losing my Virginity“, a fun example of Branson’s rip-roaring life.
